The candidates who applied to run for the upcoming Fecafoot elections will know their fate today after the eligible candidates are announced.

After the postponement of November 29, 2014, decided by the Fifa, the election of the new president of the Cameroon football Federation will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Yaoundé.

List of applicants who are eligible will be announced today pending elections next week. Indeed, the Electoral Committee Chaired by Joseph Owona will meet from 11: 00 at the headquarters of the Fecafoot in Yaoundé.

They will scrutinise the records of candidates for the posts of Chairman and members of the Executive Committee of the Fecafoot and possible validation of applications to the posts of Chairman and members of the Executive Committee of the Fecafoot.

Out of the five candidates dropped out during the first campaign, only Robert Atah, Jules Nyongha, Brigite Mebande and Robert Pene went on 12th February at the headquarters to complete their folders.

Joseph Owona, the Chairman of the Committee for Standardization of the Cameroon football Federation organizes the elections while the opposition to the leaders of the Fecafoot calls for the cancelation and the resumption of the current electoral process.

Abdouraman Hamadou,, one of these opponents, was yesterday at the Court of arbitration for sport (CAs) in Lausanne, Switzerland for the hearing of the case between the Committee for standardization.

The former right-hand man of Iya Mohammed challenged the texts used in organizing the election. After this hearing, Abbas himself said that the CAS has confirmed that the verdict will be rendered before February 25, 2015.

The opposition hope that this verdict will cancel the current electoral process.
