Yaounde to host 41-storey ultramodern tower

The Government has embarked on a project to build the first sky-scrapper in Cameroon. The 41-storey ultramodern tower will host the three electricity management agencies in the country.

The agreement to undertake the project was signed this Tuesday, 10th February 2015 at the Prime Minister’s Office by the electricity sector operators in Cameroon and a South African consortium of partners.

Expected to be executed within 36 months, the project has been charged at 65 billion CFAF. The South African consortium of partners will support its financing.

The tower is expected to be a symbol of the town of Yaounde and the highest building in Central Africa. It will contain hotel facilities, a restaurant, conference halls, high standard apartments and a parking lot with a thousand-vehicle capacity.
