Govt makes FCFA 153 billion as 2014 treasury bonds

The minister of finance, Alamine Ousmane has disclosed that the sum of FCFA 153 billion has been paid into the state treasury bonds in 2014.

The announcement was made this Friday, 26th December 2014 during a press conference in Yaounde to mark the end of the subscription of the 2014 bond period which spanned from November 24th to 23rd December 2014.

During the Press Conference attended by the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Finance Minister Alamine Ousman Mey said the 2014 treasury bonds has experienced a three billion increase that was not initially expected by competent authorities.

The Minister further indicated the banks and financial institutions in the country that have been mobilised to ensure that the sum is effectively allotted to finance priority projects including the development of Mining and Extractive sectors, health, and transport, urban and rural development.
