Yaounde-Douala double carriage road project in progress

Construction works on the Yaounde -Douala double carriage road are progressing at good pace according the minister of public works, Patrice Amba Salla.

The Minister made the declaration after evaluating the project site over the weekend.

Minister Patrice Amba Salla expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far. He reassured the Regional Director of the Chinese engineering company in charge of the project, Li Yufei that the necessary equipment and workmanship needed for the project shall be made available.

The double carriage road construction has been divided into three phases with the first phase covering a distance of 100km.

From the evaluation tour, it was clear that work was ongoing within a ten km distance of the first phase of the road almost completed.

The Public Works Minister’s visit served as an opportunity for the construction team to file in difficulties encountered and proposals on how to solve them.

At the end of the site check, the Chinese engineer, Li Yufei expressed optimism saying if the necessary problems were solved, the project could be terminated by 2019.
