Laurent Esso absent from human rights report presentation ceremony

The keeper of the seals was absent during the said ceremony despite the presence of several of his colleagues in Government.

In place of Laurent Esso, it is the Minister delegate to the Minister of justice Mr. Jean-Pierre Fogui who presided over the 2013 edition of the solemn presentation of the annual report of justice on the situation of human rights in Cameroon.

Grégoire Owona for labour, Fame Ndongo for higher education, Eyebe Ayissi for greater control of the State, Issa Tchiroma of communication and Michel Ange Angouing of public service Ministers took part in the event.

Published in the form of a 724-page bilingual book, the 2013 report on the situation of the rights of man in Cameroon has a preface, a foreword by the garde des sceaux Laurent Esso, an introduction, a preliminary chapter and three parts followed a general conclusion.

The first part focuses on civil rights and policies. The second part examined aspects of the economic, social and cultural rights. The third part is dedicated exclusively to cross-cutting issues and specific rights.

In chapter I of the book entitled: "The right to life, the right to physical and moral integrity the right to liberty and security and the right not to be subjected to torture", is a classification of the sanctions administered to police officers, for various reasons ranging from the misuse of the firearm until the assault on a user obviously through fatal blows.

For cause, the report itself, offers no solution or alternative measure to improve the situation of human rights in Cameroon.
