Séverin Tchounkeu demands a written request from CRTV for help

The boss of the journal, La Nouvelle Expression responded to the call made Saturday by the Minister of communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary.

Several media outlets have already responded favourably to the request made by the Minister of communication during his visit on Saturday in Douala.

They decided to relay newsletters from CRTV. Radio Equinoxe and Radio Balafon have already arranged spaces in their programme listings for the main ranges of information from the CRTV Radio. Radio Equinox for example broadcasts since Monday, September 29, 2014, news at 1pm and 5pm.

Séverin Tchounkeu, president and CEO of La Nouvelle Expression asked CRTV to make a written request. "We expect to receive formal application from the General Directorate of CRTV. And we will assess on the basis of what they will ask specifically. We will evaluate the timing of this support function also for the evolution of the work", says the CEO of the La Nouvelle Expression.

CRTV signal went off in the regions of Littoral and Southwest since the afternoon of September 26, 2014. The tower which housed the transmitters of the national post, the regional station of the Littoral, radio Suelaba Fm 105, national television and antennas of the international radio stations RFI, BBC and Africa No. 1 collapsed.

This collapse caused the death of four of the five Cameroonian technicians who were conducting maintenance activities.
