Lions players for AFCON qualifiers to be disclosed friday

Initially expected on Saturday, August 23, 2014, the list of players of the national football team of Cameroon called up for the match against the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of the final round of qualifying for the AFCON 2015 in Morocco could be released in 24 hours.

The extraordinary general meeting of the Cameroon Football Federation expected that same Saturday is the cause of this anticipation.

According to our Fecafoot sources, Volker Finke, the head coach of the Indomitable Lions will personally make public the list of players during a press conference with location and time not yet been disclosed.

The German coach who had returned to Europe to prepare his list, is expected today in Yaounde: "he is expected at the Fecafoot HQ today to finalize the list he compiled two weeks ago.

For the normalization Committee of the Federation it will be about harmonizing different points of views on the list of players and the programme of the matches preparation against Congo and Cote Ivoire "said a source in the administrative management of the national team .

According to some sources the list of the Indomitable Lions is deeply restructured, speculating that Finke called among other new players, two from the national under 20 team.

While waiting for the official list of Lions, we have to remember that this will be the first reunion of the Cameroon team since the World Cup Brazil 2014.

For this new beginning in the group stage of qualifying for the AFCON 2015, Cameroon begins with an away game September 6, 2014 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, before hosting Cote d’Ivoire four days later in Yaounde, to finally end the first leg against Sierra Leone.
