Cameroon fail to reassure ahead of World Cup

Cameroon failed to put up a good show in their first warm up game ahead of the World Cup, raising doubts about their ability to return to form in time for the competition in Brazil.

The Lions went into the match with a poorer and less consistent record of two wins, two draws and a loss (WDWDL) in their last five matches against a WWWDL Portuguese side but the 1-5 loss margin dampened fans spirits.

“Portugal fans may have been worried after their side were pegged back late in the first half, but in the end they had far too much quality for a poor Cameroon defence,” said Goal commentator Tom Maston.

Cameroon completely lost control of the second half with a lame defence, an ineffective midfield and an outplayed attack after a fairly balanced first half during which they scored their lone goal.

The team in under pressure to perform, after managing to qualify for its seventh World Cup finals. Cameroon “have much work to do,” said Maston.
