Yimga Moussa arrested in Yaoundé

Yimga Moussa, the national president of the National Association of Informal Sectors in the fight against Poverty (ANOSILP) has been detained at the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance since Friday afternoon.

According to Theodore Elouna, a member of the association, Moussa was arrested by the police at his Messa office in Yaoundé.

Moussa’s arrest was due to an issue that occurred on June, 30. Administrative authorities acquired about the compensation to victims of the Pid program scam from the informal sector.

The project, which was launched in 2009, went bankrupt with over four billion FCFA. The informal sector was assessed on the missing funds. According to them, PID was supposed to grant them funds for their activities.

The other claim by Anosilp concerned the resettlement of informal sector operators in the markets of Yaoundé.

Meanwhile, the DST paid him a visit at the prison but it was impossible to meet the president of the ANOSILP.
