The Cameroonian Minister of Communications, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, announced a rout of the Nigerian terrorist sect in Bodo, Far North on Tuesday.

In a press release, the government spokesman indicated that the defence forces victoriously repelled an attack by armed assailants suspected to be members of Boko Haram in Bodo, Department of Logone and Chari in the Extreme-North from July 6 to 7, 2015.

On the circumstances that led to the attack, the government noted, "in the early morning of Tuesday July 7, 2015 around 03:40 am, an enemy column mounted on 4 x 4 vehicles, opened fire at locations occupied by our defence forces.

This was followed by a violent exchange of open fire until dawn and with the fierce response from Cameroonian soldiers, the aggressors eventually retreated. Three people from their troop were killed with many weapons seized. "No loss was reported on the Cameroonian side,be it material or human resources," a defence security disclosed.

According to the Mincom release, this new attack by Boko Haram on Cameroonian soil comes after several attacks by suicide bombers, particularly, deadly ones in Nigeria and Chad which indicates that Yaoundé has "obviously changed tactics to conquer the enemy, who was faced with rigorous retort at the front line".
