Yaounde Polytechnic Gets New Equipment

A consignment of equipment for the High Tech Centre of the National Advanced School of Engineering, Yaounde was received yesterday June 7 in the campus of the institution. The equipment by Sela Educational Initiatives Limited of Israel is the dividend of cooperation between Cameroon and Israel. The reception marked the end of the first phase of the Free University Zone project directed by the Head of State.

Speaking during the occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, said being the pilot institution, the University of Yaounde I will be able to carry out research and technical training as well as attract the best lecturers and students in Cameroon and in the sub-region.

The high tech centre has 12 laboratories amongst which a robotics and vision laboratory with seven robots assisted by computers. In all, the equipment comprises 156 computers and is secured by a high capacity stabiliser and generator. This opens the way to high level training in the domains of robotics, production assisted by computer, mecatronics, conception and manufacturing assisted by computer.
