Work begins on new Forestry, Wildlife Ministry office

Officials of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife are expected in 36 months time to work under a very conducive environment following the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of their office last August 22 at a spot at the Etoudi neighbourhood henceforth referred as the Yaoundé new Administrative Centre.

Laying the foundation stone, Forestry and Wildlife Minister, Ngole Philip Ngwese while expressing gratitude to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya not only for approving the project but also for allowing them to include it in their budgetary allocation, underlined that upon completion, the office will solve infrastructure problems hitherto encountered by his collaborators in order to enhance performance.

Minister Ngole Philip Ngwese explained to reporters that “We realized that our staff is working under extremely difficult conditions. The project to be carried out in two to three years upon completion will solve the acute problem of infrastructure faced by the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife.

This new office will facilitate our staff in attaining objectives assigned to our ministry.”

The 9 storey building with 6 elevators and other modern facilities including those for persons with disabilities to be constructed over a surface area of over one hectare is designed by a Cameroonian architect, Yimga Moyo and the construction project is evaluated at over CFA 13 billion Frs.

The ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone was also attended by Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Jean Claude Mbwentchou, Minister of Public Works, Patrice Amba Salla, Governor of Centre Region, Otto Joseph Wilson just to name but these few.
