Women's Empowerment Statistical Yearbook Imminent

The process for the collection of data for the Statistical Yearbook of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family will go operational in October 2013 nationwide.

This was the outcome of a three-day workshop to validate the technical documents for the production of the statistical yearbook of the ministry that ended in Mbalmayo in the Nyong and So'o Division of the Centre Region.

Closing the workshop, the Inspector General in the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family, Emilia Nkamchoir said the workshop consolidated the process has that will ultimately lead to the production of a statistical yearbook of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family, an important tool for advocacy and assessment of the action of various actors operating in the vast filed of women's empowerment, the promotion and protection of the rights of the child and the family.

Emilia Nkamchoir used the occasion to call on all stakeholders to welcome the survey teams that will meet them during the month of October to carry out the survey. She said the statistical yearbook will enable the ministry meet up with new challenges in its effort s to reduce the disparities between men and women in all sectors of national life. The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics.
