Wo Ruidi bids Paul Biya farewell

Wo Ruidi, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China was received on Tuesday by the President Biya at the end of his stay.

"We see Cameroon as a strategic partner. There are exchanges at high levels between our countries, significant of which is our economic cooperation". He said yesterday to the press.

"I have arrived at the end of my mission and I have come to say goodbye to his Excellency, the President of the Republic."

The head of State and his guest made a comprehensive overview of this cooperation, also addressing the military aspect. Wo Ruidi mentioned, in this regard, that Beijing has opened a military service in the Embassy in Yaoundé. What was instituted, according to the diplomat, to strengthen military cooperation.

Established in March 26, 2011, diplomatic relations between Cameroon and China have gained intensity from that time. Bilateral cooperation is based on a score of already signed agreements, loan agreements of economic and technical cooperation, including cultural cooperation medical, commercial, tourism, a memorandum on training in the military field, another relative to the promotion and protection of mutual investments. Established by an agreement signed on September 26, 1986, the China-Cameroon joint Commission is held every two years.

The diplomat also took advantage of this farewell to signify the gratitude of his country for the release of the ten Chinese hostages on October 11, 2014. The Chinese hostages had been released at the same time as 27 Cameroonian abducted July 27 in Kolofata.
