Wassaga issues another complaint against Biya

President Paul Biya President Paul Biya

Woungly Massaga filed Wednesday, January 27, 2016, a complaint to the Supreme Court of Cameroon against President Paul Biya for violation of Article 66 of the Constitution of Cameroon on the declaration of assets.

In his complaint, which was published in the daily Le Jour, Woungly Massaga wrote: “I have the honor to come to the high court to complaint against Paul Biya, President of the Republic of Cameroon, for aggravated and deliberate violation for 20 years of the Constitution of our country, notably Article 66 on the declaration of assets of President of the Republic and those of other managers of the public wealth."

“Through my lawyers, I would respectfully ask you, gentlemen and judges of the Supreme Court, kindly look into the case of the infringement of public awareness of the Constitution. That is why I ask you as a complainant to impose a penalty of one year in prison to Mr. Paul Biya per year of infringement of the Constitution or a total of 20 years imprisonment with seizure of all his assets and those of his beneficiaries," he continued.

In preparation for this complaint, Woungly Massaga had sought the assistance of two former Presidents of the supreme court; Mr. Bernard Muna and Yondo Black.

Massaga had sent a correspondence in November 2015 explaining that their skills are recognized nationally and internationally and that they are difficult to intimidate or bribe. The author of the complaint against the President explained that the tenors of the Bar have not agreed to attend.

In his own words “They made me understand that this case will not succeed. But I am ready to face the president before the bar," he said according to Le Jour”.
