Minefop organized a session to assess the competence approach in structures under its jurisdiction in Yaoundé on Thursday.

This training was a follow up on a new concept that was being experimented a few years ago at public and private centres for vocational training at the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Formation professionnelle (Minefop): l’Approche Par Compétence approach by competence (APC).

A capacity building session was held in the conference room of the Ministerial Department on Thursday to assess the achievements of learners and sensitize trainers.

Head of Department, Zacharie Pérevet in the opening speech explained that the competence approach option permanently goes against the educational option by being objective. It a reform to improve the quality of training and incorporating specific tools which focuses on repositories of vocational training.

To date, 35 repositories have already been developed in many trades. It was discussed during the session to ensure that the breakdown of the evaluation of learners by the objective approach is effective for an immediate framework.

The competence approach is demanding in terms of the quality of human and material resources. It is to provide adequate responses based on the concerns of the trainers on the mastery of this approach that Minefop has undertaken on the various aspects of the technique.

Presentations and interactive exchanges permitted each player to be better informed on the fundamentals of the approach, specifications, terms and evaluation in accordance with repository tools.
