Douala University students have created a new type of coal, using organic banana peels or leftover grains, which is 100% ecological.
This is an initiative that helps reuse waste while protecting the environment.
Doula, located in West Cameroon, is a city where household waste management is particularly complicated. Built on hills, some of its neighborhoods are difficult to access by maintenance teams and dumpsters. It is therefore not uncommon to come across piles of bananas, vegetables or other wastes waiting to be disposed.
In addition to the low environmental impact of the product, the initiative intends to solve the issue of wastes which dirty the streets by recycling household wastes.
