UPC reacts to double attack in Maroua

The Union of the Populations of Cameroon (UPC) has condemned the double attack in Maroua caused by Boko Haram and pledged full support to the Cameroonian Armed Forces.

UPC commended the army for their courage, temerity and determination to fight the enemy relentlessly and sent condolences to the bereaved families.

The UPC urged the people of Cameroon to be vigilant in order to deal with the destabilizing actions by Boko Haram. That is, to mobilize and support the defense and security forces and the commander in Chief of the army, His Excellency Paul Biya. This to enable our country join forces in the fight against the enemy’s various attempts to destabilize our institutions. Thus, we must take all necessary measures to secure our territory and to make the youth immune to religious or political extremists’ mirages.

The UPC has the nation’s interest at heart. President Paul Biya must use his powers to deploy at least 6,000 heavily armed defense forces and Security and they should be divided into a combination of 5 elements in a unit across all the arteries of our cities. The UPC calls on the need for cooperation between all political parties, leaders of civil society and the head of state for a better cohesion of the forces facing the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

The UPC reassures Cameroonian Armed Forces and the Supreme Chief of the army, HE Paul Biya to actively participate in safeguarding the security, integrity and development of Cameroon.

The Union of the Populations of Cameroon (UPC) has the firm conviction that the people of Cameroon will rise to this challenge in our country by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
