UNALOR employees still on strike

En greve En greve

Employees of Equatorial Allumettière Union (UNALOR) have been on strike since 28 October 2015 and tensions mounted a notch Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

The reason for the strike is wage arrears and the exasperating administrative silence. "We are tired of being treated as less than nothing. We want our wages ... " reads a striker, according to the newspaper La Nouvelle Expression Wednesday 4 November 2015.

"It is time we express our discontent and if nothing is done for us, we wont encourage them to resume work. This is not possible. We can't feed our children ... " said the latter.

According to the newspaper, the strikers believe in the strike which started Wednesday, October 28, 2015. They say they will not let go if they do not find satisfaction. Winning the case is their goal.

"How can we ask hundreds of fathers and mothers to stay at home for an indefinite period without at least the previous months wages? They are not serious ... ", they asked the question.

Nothing has been heard from the side of the management who had asked several workers to stop work for a while without giving precise reason, much less pay the owed wages.

On Tuesday, November 3; the strikers were still in anger.
