Two new wells to be drilled on the Logbaba gas field

Gaz du Cameroun (GDC) has planned to increase production by drilling two new wells on the Logbaba gas field between 2015 and 2016.

The project began when the field was developed in the suburbs of Douala at the headquarters of the company, British oil and gas operator Victoria Oil & Gas (VOG).

According to Henri Serge Job, Business Development Director at GDC, the first drilling will begin towards the end of the year 2015, while the second will be in 2016.

Although Mr. Job has disclosed neither the amount invested nor the proportion of the increased production of these two new boreholes, the Business Development Director of GDC specifies that these investments will enable the company to meet demand for natural gas increasingly important industrial companies of the Cameroonian economic capital.

At the time of the official inauguration treatment plant for Logbaba natural gas in November 2013 16 companies were established. Now the number of companies that run their boilers to natural gas has reached 28 today.

In addition, it was revealed that GDC and fifty other companies are currently negotiating with the gas operator for supplies.

Furthermore Serge Henri Job stated that GDC is currently negotiating with the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH ), the armed wing of the Cameroon government in the oil and gas sector , to produce the compressed gas which could then be transported beyond Douala, and thus supply companies located in other cities in Cameroon .
