The first meeting between the Minister of Forests and Wildlife (MINFOF), Philip Ngole Ngwese and the new ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Cameroon, Murat Ülkü Monday was held in Yaounde.

It was an opportunity for the diplomat who said: "Forestry is an area that is dear to us as Turkey has vast forests. The forestry sector will therefore be a pillar for increasing cooperation between the two countries."

The meeting led to an overview of the different areas supposed to strengthen cooperation between Cameroon and Turkey in terms of forest management.

"I had the chance to discuss cooperation projects with the minister and I am delighted to say that in Cameroon, we have all the ingredients for increased cooperation that goes beyond traditional efforts," said the diplomat.

The meeting between the two men also revolved around the work schedule to be adopted to formulate concrete projects and other areas of cooperation in the sector. For the ambassador, this will take concrete steps "that will demonstrate our mutual commitment to working to achieve results in the area which is very important for Cameroon".
