Three thousand pupils have received prizes for academic excellence in the 2015-2016 academic year. The pupils, who are from 46 government and mission schools in the Douala II municipality, were honoured during the 9th Academic Excellence Day of the Douala II Council in New Bell June 9.
The award which consisted of stationeries and other packages seeks to help defray the academic cost of the beneficiaries, as well as enable them to continue with school in order to become good citizens of the council area and the nation.
Douala II Council Mayor, Denise Fampou, in the presence of Wouri SDO and other authorities, thanked the pupils and teachers of the various schools for their hard work which has led to the excellent academic results.
