Tradex case adjourned to June 4

The CEO and another executive implicated for unduly withholding money and abusing the trust of others defend themselves. The trial court in Douala-Bonanjo continued Thursday, May 7, 2015 the judgment of the case between Ambassa Bartholomew, representing the law firm Custodis at Perrial Nyodog Jean, CEO of Tradex, public company and distribution of petroleum products Robert Baha, director of operations of the same company, at the time of the facts considered.

According to Mr. Ambassa, the two officials of Tradex withheld his property without right (money in this case) and abused his trust. Rather, according to the explanations given by counsel for the respondent, an attempt Custodis firm to get paid a claim assigned by a third party (an insurance company according to sources close to the case).

In fact, the civil dispute has already committed for trial at the initiative of the manager of Custodis. It is therefore not legally possible to go to criminal court again, believes the defense.

Moreover, in this case, the firm received the claim and not the manager. Therefore, it lacks standing to pursue instead of the supposed owner of the sums claimed.

Listening to these arguments the complainant asked for a reference, time to consider and react at the next hearing 4 June 2015.
