According to security sources, they were arrested Thursday morning in the Cameroonian town of Kousseri in the Far North.
Three suspected members of Islamist sect Boko Haram suspected of being the masterminds of the suicide bombing that killed 15 people and wounded 80 on Saturday in the central market of the Chadian capital, N'Djamena, were arrested Thursday morning in the Cameroonian town of Kousseri (Far North), we learn from security sources.
The suspects, whose origin or circumstance of arrest is unknown, are currently being held by the specialized forces amidst persistent rumors indicating the flow of members of the jihadist movement through Cameroon to prepare terrorist acts.
This belief is currently reflected in the intensified road checks in the country, particularly in the capital Yaounde where night patrols have increased since the beginning of the week.
On Saturday, July 11 in Fotokol, border town with Nigeria, a double attack attributed to Boko Haram has killed 13 people and injured seven.
Furthermore, and according to reliable sources, a truck chartered by the World Food Programme and carrying more than 29 tons of food for Nigerian refugees was attacked last Friday in an ambush on national highway No. 1 located in the area.
The attackers managed to escape after seriously wounding the vehicle attendant, who, however, continued his journey to Kousseri under heavy escort.
