The defense and security forces have launched a major operation to hunt three suspected suicide bombers whose presence was reported on Thursday in Maroua, the regional capital of the Far North.

Their presence was reported by the population who were suspected them: "As soon as the alert of the presence of the three young suspected suicide bombers was given, the city and its people were subjected to a thorough search. All popular places have been searched," said a source.

Other reliable sources indicate that markets and schools in the city of Maroua were closed and the students returned to their respective homes.

Administrative authorities are avoiding a tragedy in the city, we learn. For three months, the city and all localities of the Far North region are targets of suicide attacks causing many casualties.

Targetted areas are Maroua, Fotokol, Kerawa, Mora, Kangaleri which have been repeatedly attacked.
