The elements of the mobile intervention group n°2 shot dead a suspected criminal on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Douala.
The latter is suspected to be the one who robbed the briefcase of the former captain of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song, last Monday at Yassa district.
The thirty-year-old man was killed by police yesterday in Douala when he and his accomplices were hunted down after assaulting two expatriates of Chinese nationality.
The commander of the mobile group intervention (GMI) No. 2, informed the national radio, CRTV, which broadcast the information on Wednesday, July 22, after the attack on two Chinese expatriate employees in their company based in Douala.
The two Chinese men were waiting for a taxi at Customs Department neighbourhood when they were attacked by the armed gang of 7 holding pistols and daggers. Their backpacks containing two phones and nearly a million CFA francs was taken away by the robbers.
The police, who rushed to the scene, spotted the suspect hiding in a bush near the scene of the crime. The suspect opened fire and in the process the gendarmes gunned him down.
His body was transferred to the Douala Laquintini hospital morgue but his accomplices managed to escape.
