The remains of the Cameroonian murdered in Switzerland repatriated

A 44-year-old Cameroonian has been murdered by an Angolan suspect who has gone into hiding after the incident in Basel, Switzerland.

The lifeless body of Chantal Beyala, who was married to a Swiss, slashed with a knife was found in an apartment in Basel by a Portuguese who lived temporarily in the alleged murderer’s apartment on May 8.

The witness who happened to be a neighbor alerted the police after the discovery of the body at around 11:30am (local time). He discovered the lifeless body lying in a pool of blood when he entered the apartment.

According to the prosecution statement of Basel City the alleged murderer is an Angolan who knew the victim. He is now on the run and an international arrest warrant has been issued.

Chantal Beyala’s body will be repatriated to Cameroon where her family will give her a befitting burial.
