With the appointment of a Nigerian General, Illya Abbah, as its head on Thursday, the multinational joint force began to take shape.
The staff based in N'Djamena will be operational this weekend, while the force itself still needs one to two weeks to develop.
This force will have 8,500 men, including 2,000 police and gendarmerie elements. It will aim at neutralizing the Boko Haram jihadist.
With a Nigerian General, a Chadian head of staff, a Cameroonian operational commander, the headquarters of the multinational joint force, known as joint intervention multinational force is now complete.
The global architecture is in place. The operational concept and the rules of engagement were adopted a few months ago.
