The Ministry of Higher Education nabs private institutes

The Minister of Higher Education (Minesup), Chancellor of Academic Orders, Jasques Fame Ndongo, informs that the Pan African Institute for Development (PAID) is not accredited by his ministry.

In consequence, indicates Jasques Fame Ndongo, candidates registered in this institution for the bachelor, masters and doctorate programs will do so at their own risk as, the diplomas issued via these programmes will not be admitted by the ministry of which he is in charge. In the same context, St Monica University in Buea is not authorised to offer doctorate/Ph.D. programmes or issue any equivalent acknowledged degrees. Any person, holding a Ph.D. degree from this university is in infringement of the current law.

Moreover, Minesup specifies, any candidate who wishes to register in a private institute of higher education (IPES) in Cameroon must check the accreditation status of the said institute on the website of the ministry for further information. “Investigations currently underway at Minesup will enable us to examine this accreditation status for IPES throughout the country and those who will be caught infringing the current law will be summoned to the Ethics sub-Commission of the National Private Higher Education Commission”, Jacques Fame Ndongo warned.
