The Cameroonian University is not in crisis - Jacques Fame Ndongo

A seminar was held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of higher education (Minesup) on Wednesday, for information and awareness of Trade Union and academic leaders on the prevention of crises involving teachers of State universities.

Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo revealed that, "The Cameroonian University is not in crisis", he said. This desire for the pacification of the campuses is aimed at decreasing moods and movements initiated by teachers unions.

In order to dispel any misunderstanding, including that relating to the delay in the payment of premiums for research, Pr Jacques Fame Ndongo asked members of the University community to be capable, when harmony and social cohesion is threatened or broken to subdue pride to reinstate peace and unity.

In exchanges with the participants, Minesup reaffirmed the need for the payment of the premium research. But also noted that it is impossible to set a precise date for this, since it depends on the situation of the State Treasury making budgetary trade-offs based on the imperatives of time.

He also expressed the wish to see a new generation of personnel concerned to invest through sincere dialogue in the promotion of social cohesion at the end of this seminar.

An idea that Union officials present at the meeting, intend to relay to their colleagues. Joseph Lebel Tahir, Secretary General of Synes also promised to provide explanations to the Minister at the level of the base of his Union. But continued to bemoan the instability of the timetable for payment.
