The 9th Congress of ONECCA focuses on "financial information"

The subject is in the center of consultations between expert accountants from Cameroon, gathered since Wednesday in Yaounde

The quality of financial information in Cameroon and the standardization of accounting in the public sector is the theme which brought together accountants from Cameroon since Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Yaoundé at the 9th Congress of ONECCA.

Coupled with the celebration of the 30 years of existence of the institution created in 1985, the meeting was designed to improve the quality and transparency of public and private accounts in Cameroon. This is to give an accurate picture of the implementation of the budget of heritage developments and financial situation. What goes through an accentuated reform of the model of governance of the country.

For the Minister of Finance (Minfi), Alamine Ousmane Mey, who opened talks as personal representative of the head of State, accompanied by the Minister of Justice, Laurent Esso, liberal accounting professionals must continue to contribute to the improvement of the business environment for the economic and social development of Cameroon.

Through the voice of its president, René Libong, ONECCA wishes to draw the attention of Governments on the IMAS and invited the state to take accounts since it is the most important economic actor. To do so, priority is given to financial information that requires a reliable production and processing both in the public sector than private.

For three days, ONECCA intends to sensitize stakeholders on the relevance of the decisions, economic performance and attractiveness to investors. The Congress ends tomorrow Friday, 26 June 2015.
