Gaëlle Tatiana Meye Medjo, the 21-year-old student who was murdered on June 23, was laid to rest at the Mvolyé cemetery in Yaoundé on July 11.

Her funeral was held in the presence of many friends and University comrades who came to mourn and pay their final respect.

The young lady, who was shot on the dawn of June 23 in Yaoundé, was a bachelor student at the Faculty of Economics and management at the University of Yaoundé II. The removal of her corpse from the Yaoundé Central Hospital, where her body had been kept since she was murdered, attracted many people.

Her body was found at montée Jouvence which is not far from her family home. She was stabbed before giving up the ghost. Until now, the perpetrators of this crime have still not been arrested.

Before her assassination, Gaëlle Tatiana Meye Medjo spent her last moments with her friends at the Nsimeyong district. That night, the student hosted her friends at her mother’s restaurant for a ‘Dynasty Family’ meeting, an association created by the singer dynasty le Tigre.

An investigation in the murder had been opened at the regional Division of the judicial police.
