The former director general of the former national airline has once again asked for a stay of proceedings against him in the first part of the case concerning the liquidation of Camair.

La Nouvelle Expression of Wednesday, November 4, 2015, reported that at the hearing on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, the former ADG claimed to have already paid, "856 million CFA francs to the Treasury, 02 checks of 99,500,000 each representing the sum total of 199.000.000FCfa to the Exchequer of order," according to the settlement agreement signed between the prosecution and defense 14 August 2013.

In total, the accused has paid "1. 085 billion and 665 million CFA francs. According to the director of the company, "1765 billion is expected by the settlement agreement of understanding." From the start of the procedure, Yves Michel Fotso seized the MINJUSTICE for the purpose of further proceedings for paying his debts," reports the newspaper.

He had suffered a first setback after his first hearing at the TCS in June 2015 relating to conditional discharge which he had appealed. The appeal was declared inadmissible by the specialized Chamber of the Supreme Court at an ordinary hearing in October 2015".

According to the newspaper, "the hearing on November 3, 2015 marks the second phase of that procedure. But it was not publicized."

"Having ended his protocol debt, he awaits the decision of the Minister of Justice. Therefore, a letter addressed to the Attorney General expressly asked him to order a stay of proceedings. But the application of this article often creates confusion. In light of his hearing, the return of the booty of the crime does not guarantee the stay, let alone his release," concludes La Nouvelle Expression.
