Sylvanus Ezieh laid to rest

The Guardian Post Newspaper journalist was buried over the weekend in Njikwa in the North West Region.

“RIP”, “Oops too bad, what is life?” “Spoke with you last Friday, we joked as usual, and now they say you have gone. Where to Sylvanus Ezieh?” These are some of the timeline messages written on the facebook page of Sylvanus Ezieh as the world, particularly loved ones and friends react on his death.

Sylvanus Ezieh, the 28-year-old political desk editor of the Guardian Post newspaper was discovered dead in his bedroom on Monday August 31, 2015 at the Obili neighbourhood in Yaounde.

The last time Ezieh was seen in public was on Friday August 28, 2015 in Yaounde during a special event to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the Guardian Post Newspaper. According to the Publisher of the Guardian Post, Kristian Ngah Christian, Sylvanus Ezieh was the Co-Master of Ceremony of the event.

Kristian Ngah said on Sunday, August 30, 2015, Sylvanus went out drinking with some colleagues of the Guardian Post and returned home at about 3:00 a.m. on Monday August 31.

His corpse was removed from the Yaounde Central Hospital mortuary and transferred to his native village Njikwa in the North West Region for burial last weekend. The young journalist leaves behind two children, colleagues, friends and family members to mourn him.
