Stade Renard de Melong received with great pomp in Douala

After their accession to Ligue 2 at the end of National Interpools tournament between the winners of the championships of the ten regions of Cameroon, players, and trainers of Stade Renard de Melong were received as heroes, on Monday, December 21, 2015, by the governor of the Littoral Region.

The administrative authorities present at the occasion, the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) of Wouri, Divisional Officers (DO) of the districts of Douala and the sports authorities of the Littoral Region.

After welcoming the performance of this team which has the veteran goalkeeper, Mathurin Kameni, former Cameroon international, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua handed an envelope of FCFA 250,000 to the club based in the Department of Mungo.

Stade Renard de Melong achieved a perfect record by winning in her two outings in Pool C. The first was against Olympique de Ngaoundere, Adamawa champion (3-0) and then Santos of Koza with the same scores.

Stade Renard de Melong won its accession ticket in Ligue 2, together with PWD Bamenda, the legendary Northwest club and AS Fortuna Mfou from Central Region.

The tournament that started on December 12, 2015, was completed on Saturday, 19. It was played in stadiums of Ngaoundere, Bertoua, Douala, Akonolinga and Bafang.

Santos of Koza, champion of the Extreme North region, Esperance Guider, champion of the Northern region, Olympique de Ngaoundere, Adamawa champion, AS Bethel of Bertoua, champion of the Eastern Region, Reste du Monde d’Ebolowa, South Region champion, Best Stars of Limbe, South West Region champion and AS Menoua, champion of the Western Region, could not seize their chance in this competition.

The start of the professional championship of Ligue 2 that was originally scheduled for January 16, 2015 has been pushed forward to the 23 of the same month, because of the unavailability of the Reunification Stadium of Bépanda.
