Sonatrel DG installed in Yaounde

Mami Nyanga, under the anointing of Basile Atangana Kouna, Minister of Water and Energy (Minee), took office at the head of the national electricity transmission company (Sonatrel), and Minlaa Mengue Ruben as assistant general manager.

Just after the holding of the first board of the Sonatrel whose, Minee is the president, Mbemi Nyaknga and Minlaa Mengue Ruben, were installed last Friday in Yaounde in their respective roles of Director General (DG) and Director General of the Sonatrel.

Mbemi Nyaknga, who was until his appointment the prefect of the department of Mefou et Afamba (Central Region), Basil Attangana Kouna specified the tasks ahead. "More concretely, the Sonatrel will notably ensure the maintenance, renewal and retrofitting of hydro works throughout the national territory," among others recalled the Minee.

And finally: "We all know the horrors of untimely power cuts, and also know that we lose 40% of our energy in transport. In developing the sector, we will maximize production, and possibly even consider how to lower the cost of electricity. "

The Sonatrel was born from a decree of the President of the Republic signed on October 8.
