Lawyers for the SOCACIM seized the administrative judge on Tuesday morning for attacking the legitimacy of the decree signed by the Prime Minister on 22 May. Before going to the offices of the Supreme Court, the robed men stopped at the Star Building to file an administrative appeal to the Prime Minister.

On a visit to Tsinga district, in the building of Radio artists promoted by Romeo Dika, it is clear that the offices of SOCACIM was teeming with a particular activity early Tuesday afternoon.

In what passes for a waiting room and office, discussions on policy issues and laxity of the plan were well underway. Of the five people who were working there, two are directors and two artists registered in the records of the new copyright society for the benefit of musicians.

When questioned, one of them believed that only SOCACIM is able to defend the rights of artists. Like him, there are 1,410 other artists who have chosen to put their names on the table of the new company from the directors of the SOCACIM. The fifth person was a boy who looks more like an office worker. But the office would be a pretty big word to describe a space which is more reminiscent of a small warehouse that stores rows of plates and some old computer equipment.

The atmosphere is quite different in the next office where the administrator, Joseph Franklin Boati, received the reporter. Asked about the reasons why SOCACIM has not put the key under the mat, the man said in substance, the Prime Minister was misled by taking a decision not in accordance with the texts and that the different procedures referred, discussed above, precisely aims to right the wrong.

The Copyright Act 2000 gives the Minister in charge of culture the right to award the task of amenities and not the Prime Minister, he suggests. It is not written in any text that the Prime Minister who is in charge of government to suspend a statement of another minister.

This is an early argument that is expected to grow in the coming days.
