Six people have been kidnapped during an alleged incursion of Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram on Friday at Gafe, a village in the region of the Far North Cameroon neighboring Kerawa, will we learned on Tuesday from Community sources.

These captives are herders driven forcefully to the base of the attackers in Nigerian territory with their cattle, a herd of over a hundred oxen from the local population by the group of suspected armed jihadists who came to restock food in the Cameroonian border town, report these sources.

The Cameroonian army was not alerted in time and the attackers committed their crimes without undergoing any resistance, say military sources.

This type of attack, sometimes with scenes of deadly violence, is common in the Far North of Cameroon, in addition to the massive onslaught which is sharply directed against positions of defense and security forces and suicide bombings, which were repeated in turn since the first recorded act in July at Fotokol.

Cornered by the Nigerian military offensive in its stronghold North-east of the country, Boko Haram leads infiltrations in Cameroon's border communities to force people to provide food, including livestock to feed its fighters.

For its operations, the terrorist group, affiliated with the organization Islamic state (IS) that has plagued the Middle East, took advantage of the porosity of the long border of nearly 2,000 kilometers between Cameroon and Nigeria, creating an arduous task for the Cameroonian army, which plays a very important role to eradicate the group.
