Quality, speed, compliance are the three qualities binding the companies selected to perform the work of the first phase of the three-year emergency plan, with regard to the city of Douala.

This reminder was made to them on October 22, at a meeting presided by the technical adviser 2 of the administration, Fairouz Chendjouo, at the premises of the regional delegation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (Minhdu).

According to information provided during the meeting, the work will include lighting and secondary roads. The meeting with the various administrations and companies concerned, was to define the rules of conduct to be applied with the different companies to carry out the work to which the imperative of compliance with standards has been reiterated.

Among other things, these companies will need to make arrangements and ways of rehabilitation in various districts of Douala. It is therefore a question of work quickly but well.

The Emergency Plan, said the CT # 2 of Minhdu, aims to "accelerate economic growth" of Cameroon. Specifically, Douala,a high traffic city, has a number of sections identified to be rehabilitated. The sections divided into two groups: Group I for those requiring a light rehabilitation, and group II, for tracks requiring heavier rehabilitation.

"Today we start with Group I," said Fairouz Chendjouo before initiating the descent to the ground. As a reminder, in addition to the development of the road works, the economic capital should also see the rehabilitation of the technical platform of Douala General Hospital, as well as the construction of gendarmerie and police stations. While the Littoral region, like others, will benefit from the construction of two major highways opening up to production areas in the three-year emergency plan approved by the head of state after the Council Ministers decision of December 9, 2014.
