Batibo elite in the Northwest Region have exhorted the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit, Rose Mba Acha Ngwari, to show no mercy on embezzlers of public funds who have brought Cameroon to its knees.

The elite were speaking through Professor Peter Ndifon during the homecoming ceremony of their daughter.

According to Prof Ndifon, since the era of West Cameroon that a son of Batibo was appointed Minister, the Batibo people have been left in the cold for over 50 years without a Minister until recently when President Biya appointed Mba Acha as Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit.

The elite also appealed to Mba Acha to use her office and personal relations to ensure that water, electricity and road projects are given to Batibo.
The elite equally pledged to reciprocate the Presidential gesture with a total support to the President Biya and the values he incarnates.

The Mayor of Batibo, Frederick Tanjoh, described Mba Acha as a role model to many because of her performance as a Magistrate of high repute.

“Above all, you have proven to be a shaker and a caretaker. As a mouthpiece of Batibo people, you will not hesitate to channel the following grievances through the Prime Minister to President Biya; that Batibo is ripe for a full Division, that the colonial bridge linking Nyanji and the rest of Batibo gave away, that food is getting rotten in the farms because there are no roads, as well as no electricity and water in several villages of Batibo,” Tanjoh said.

While thanking Government for the construction of the Bamenda-Batibo-Mamfe-Enugu road, Tanjoh said if the farming population does not increase productivity as Nigerian businessmen have invaded all farms, there will be no corn, cocoa yam, cassava, beans and other crops for the local population.
Senator Fon Teche Njie of Ngemuwah asserted that though Batibo has been in the cold for 50 years, each time Biyadoes a cabinet shake-up, Momo is never left out.

FonTeche said the massive turnout should reflect in the ballot box when the time comes for Batibo to appreciate the appointment of their daughter.
On their part, Moghamo Women led by Mrs. Mbah Ndam assured Mba Acha of unflinching support and told her of the fruitless appeals to Government to assist the women’s training centre.

The spokesperson of Moghamo Fons, Fon Richard Fomba and the Fon of Guzang, Charles Mbayamsig, who decorated Minister Acha and her husband in the popular Northwest regalia, said they have fortified her and raised her status above any ordinary citizen.

In appreciation, Minister Acha told her people to demonstrate the love they have for her and President Biya, by not fighting each other and remain focused so that they do not miss out on any other good thing the President might have for them.

Through a motion of thanks to the Head of State, the Chairman of the organizing committee of the home-coming ceremony, Kennedy Acha, appealed to the Minister of Higher Education to decentralise the newly created faculties of the University of Bamenda, UBa, by sending one faculty to Batibo.
He equally craved for the construction of a befitting residence for the DO of Batibo.
