Staff of the Senate are finding it difficult to adapt to their temporary premises since their transfer from the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, according to La Nouvelle Expression.

The upper House of the Cameroonian Parliament have always occupied the premises within this building since its implementation in 2013.

Nouvelle Expression reported that on the 8th floor of the ARMP building granted to the Senate, some staff repeatedly found themselves locked in the rest rooms for several hours due to worn out door latches. In addition to this problem, they miss their way along the corridors due to the lack of lights.

"Apart from the delivery of chairs, employees of the Senate needs to be oriented on the corridors devoid of light. Just one or two bulbs provide light for the multiple lanes which harbours about ten offices on the floor,” indicated the newspaper.

Beyond this cluttered atmosphere observed on the 8th floor, the newspaper revealed that the atmosphere is quite different on the 9th floor reserved for the offices of the president of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji. The Senate is to settle in this premises formerly occupied by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development

"Nothing evokes the spectacle of the 8th floor, with the exception of the absence of light and almost empty offices. This is the reason the speaker of the House, is still at the Palais des Congrès for the meantime. Another element that is pending is the allocation of offices to the various services," informed La Nouvelle Expression.
