Senate approves CFA100m for anti-B'Haram crusade

The Cameroonian Senate has unlocked a budget of CFA 100 million to beef up the war chest against Boko Haram in the Far North Region, an official source told APA.

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon by the re-elected Speaker of the Upper House, Marcel Niat Njifedji, who stressed the need for a national mobilization against a movement that decimates civilian and military lives.

The move actually follows the nation-wide burst of energy in the movement particularly marked by the holding of marches to support defense forces, calls for vigilance from political parties and civil society, but also by the organization of operations for soldiers in the front and affected populations.
