Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, senior civil administrator and former Governor of the Eastern Region, was appointed Governor of the Littoral Region yesterday.
His appointed came after a presidential decree read over the 5 pm news on the National CRTV station.
He inherits the most coveted seat of the Littoral Region that remained empty for nearly three weeks. Since October 2, 2015, his predecessor, Joseph Beti Assomo, was appointed Minister of Defense (MINDEF).
It was customary that governors allocated to Douala are always chosen from the Governor’s office. The president of the Republic, Paul Biya, has simply respected tradition.
Everyone was on the alert to see who will be the new head of the Littoral region. Now the Littoral chief is called Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua.
