SGMC sells 120, 000 tons of flour in 2014

The flour producing company, Société le Grand Moulin du Cameroun (SGMC), remains the leader in the flour market in Cameroon after selling 120, 000 tons of flour in 2014.

These products were sold in Cameroon by the company headed by the French, André Phillipe. According to the CDMS boss, “We managed to develop products that met the customers' expectations. We do not just sell the products; we must also be attentive to our customers by meeting their needs. This is because there are professionals working in the company.”

André Phillipe stated that the results for 2015 will “even be better”. In 2017, the company which is a subsidiary of the French Group SOMDIAA intends to achieve an annual production volume of 135,000 tons. She similarly announced the forthcoming creation of a school of Boulangerie.lu

The above information was disclosed during a ceremony to honour 89 deserving employees of the company. Joseph Beti Assomo, Governor of the Littoral Region who chaired this event, presented a total 65 silver medals, 46 gold and 17 vermilion to the happy winners.

“This is an extremely important moment for our company. These medals, presented to these workers, is an award in recognition of hard work,” said Leopold Nyeme, Sales and Marketing Director of the company who was also a gold medalist

Created in 1991, Société le Grand Moulin du Cameroun (SGMC) today has 400 employees of which 150 are permanent. The staff, through their departmental heads, took the opportunity to ask for the return of allowances which has for years been put to a stop in the company.

It is a concern that Joseph Beti Assomo promised to bring to the attention of the labor administration. The boss of the company meanwhile is seeking the understanding of employees, in a difficult economic context, marked by competition making it more and more difficult.
