The project for the artisanal fabrication of pavement from recycled plastic waste was launched on Monday, June 29, 2015 in Yaoundé by the Goodwill Ambassador. It aims ultimately to give employment to the disadvantaged youth of fifty communes in the country.

Roger Milla, through his solidarity foundation, Coeur d' Afrique Roger Milla of Cameroon, and in partnership with the economic and social development of Cameroon GIC, has launched in Yaoundé a vast project of artisanal manufacture of paving stones, nozzles and shelter.

Thirty young people are being trained for two months at the end of which they must also train other young people in the various communes of Cameroon.

Roger Milla visited the pilot site located in the settlement of the municipal road in the heart of Yaoundé to witnessed the first achievements.

"Technology is given to everyone, simply volunteer to support the country in all that it is putting in place to help the youth," he suggested.

The work of the 30 young people present is to use worn-out objects made from plastic. Once collected, the material is heated to get liquid form. The liquid obtained is subsequently mixed with sand, then placed in the mould which either becomes hardened. 30 minutes later, the block is ready for use.

According to specialists, the resulting pavement blocks have many advantages: they are impervious to water, cheaper and two times more resistant than those manufactured in cement.

Once trained, these 30 learners will train the youth of 50 communes of Cameroon to create 2,500 jobs. "If this can allow these children to live, it's a good thing. We are happy because all the ministries concerned have adhered to our dream," noted Albert Roger Milla.

Created December 9, 2005, the solidarity Foundation Coeur d' Afrique Roger Milla intends to promote the inclusion of former athletes, former officials and celebrities in the life of the city. It also educates young people, adolescents and adults to practice sport and cultural activities. It has been helping the poor in general and the ancient glories in precarious situations in particular. They support and help the poor.
