Regional committees for standardization of Fecafoot suspended

The verdict of the case between the regional leagues and departmental football within the Cameroon football Federation (Fecafoot), about the appointment of regional standardization committees was made Friday by the Board of conciliation and arbitration of the national Olympic and sports Committee of Cameroon (Cnosc).

According to the excerpts of the docket of the litigation, "the House canceled the decision of the president of the Committee for standardisation of 03 March 2015, suspending the executives of regional and departmental leagues of Fecafoot".

Moreover, the Chamber also cancelled the decisions of 17 April 2015, appointing the members of the regional and departmental standardization committees.

Finally, for the conciliation and arbitration of the Cnosc, "the executives of regional and departmental Fecafoot leagues elected in the framework of the electoral process of 2009 remain in office until the completion of the electoral process in accordance with article 29 of the electoral Code".

The various parties have a period of 20 days from the notification of the sentence to appeal to the Court of arbitration for sport in Lausanne (Switzerland).

The case fits into a context of revival of the election process at Fecafoot, marked by endless legal battles between the Committee for standardization and some actors of the local football.

By appointing officials in regional standardization committees, PR. Joseph Owona, Chairman of the Committee for Standardization of the Fecafoot wanted to allow 'management of the competitions' in their jurisdictions.

But some ex-regional leagues executives, represented by Abdouraman Hamadou, expressed their disagreement that these appointments is a way to prevent them from resuming their previous duties.
