Prostitutes sell sperm to 'marabouts'

A survey conducted by the local press has revealed that prostitutes in Cameroon now use sperm from customers for fetishes.

Several young girls interviewed by Nouvelle Vision newspaper explained that "when a customer completes the sexual act, they remove the condom and throw it into a bucket. Once he [their client] leaves, they go back to look for the used condom and put it in a plastic container, where they store it. Carefully, they put it in their bags and send it to the ‘marabouts’.”

The Prostitutes confessed that they go through the same systematic process with all the men they sleep with them.

“The marabouts use the sperm to obscure rituals,” they said.

According to the sample of surveyed sex workers, this practice which is widespread in prostitution in Cameroon, is an "easy charm" that also attracts married men.

The practice is spreading across all major cities. Used condoms abandoned in secret rooms have become the norm.
