Promotion centres for women and the family to gain internet access

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (Minpostel) and the Ministry for the Advancement of Women and the Family (Minproff) signed an agreement for the equipment and the provision of internet connection to 92 formation Centres for Women and the Family (CPFF) scattered all over the Cameroonian territory.

On this occasion, Jean Pierre Biyiti bi Essam of Minpostel promised to put at the disposal of women generally trained in CPFF in Cameroon, the latest computer equipment as well as broadband Internet.

As a reminder, in Cameroon, the internet penetration rate is still low (this reality is more striking among women). It always stands at less than 10% despite the presence of mobile internet through the combined effect of the deployment of 3 G in the country and the more and more growing interest of the populations for smartphones.
