Project "Douala 2nd green city” launched

The operation for reforestation and the 7th edition holiday jobs were recently launched at New Bell, Douala.

The esplanade of the multifunctional Center of New Bell, recently hosted the double ceremony for the launch of the 7th edition of holiday jobs involving about 720 pupils and students, in the program "Douala 2nd green city '. During the ceremony, Mayor Denise Fampou, offered to heads of the 32 districts, 70 plants each for planting in order to give a greener image to the municipality.

«Douala II has always been considered a merchant space. People come from everywhere to sell their goods," said the Mayor. "Now, we dream of a beautiful town with trees, shades, where you can stroll and spend time. Reason for which we entrusted this work to the leaders, for a follow-up until maturity," added Denise Fampou.

The ceremony also included the welcoming of about 720 holidays workers. These pupils and students shall be responsible for cleaning the gutters, removing plastic waste, and so on.

The mayor however called on the students to take responsibilities just as the staff)This began Wednesday and ends August 13. The second will begin August 14 to complete at the end of the holiday. The Mayor stated the goal of this holiday job is to help parents for the next school year, and to contribute to the development of young people.
