Presidential palace in Bertoua in darkness

The presidential palace was recently not spared of blackouts which the population of Bertoua encountered.

"Just imagine that the president of the Republic decides unexpectedly to come for a rest in Bertoua. Imagine the disaster when he find his residence immersed in black due to load shedding by the Sonel", reveals an interlocutor who fears for this case.

The residence of the president of the Republic, lying on the same line as that of the Governor, and okolo I district M was weaned of electrical energy. So far, only the presidential residence remains in the dark over the rolling blackouts. A situation that causes psychosis within the elements of the presidential guard generally installed as mirrors of this residence.

However, this strategic location of the town of Bertoua is equipped with a high power generator. And according to the technicians who had installed it to the approach of the descent of Paul Biya for the laying of the foundation stone for the dam of Lom Pangar water two years ago, "this group which has been placed here automatically provides multiple power cuts that are often reported in Bertoua.

Moreover, the same sources made mentioned of insufficient reserves of fuel to allow this group to supply the Presidential Palace reception for several weeks.

Despite the arrival of two generators last June, and news releases announcing "the gradual return of energy stability" by officials of Aes-Sonel, we are still in the dark in the east. More serious, and certainly overwhelmed by events, these same officials are determined to no longer communicate, leaving people to guess the day of return of electrical energy in their respective localities.

Finally, after troubleshooting attempts, the company had come to inform the local authorities and the affected population of its 'temporary inability to provide efficiently the electric energy for a few weeks' in the districts and strategically of Bertoua and its surroundings, including the residence of Mr. Biya.
